Buddy Program for Regional ICPs

Often when starting out in the area of infection control information, guidelines and legislation can be very confusing.   Finding someone who can support you and help you with questions and queries can make all the difference.    In the metropolitan area we are fortunate enough to be able to attend meetings/seminars and build relationships with other ICPs.   In regional areas of Qld this can sometimes be very difficult if not impossible.

To address this issue ICPAQ have developed a buddy program to support infection control practitioners/staff in our regional areas.   The buddy program is based on a mentorship concept aimed at helping new practitioners find their feet.   For those who become part of the program an executive member is allocated to the ICP to provide support.   This usually consists of a regular phone call from the executive member to see how the ICP is going. The executive member becomes a point of contact and someone the ICP can discuss issues with on a regular basis.   If you are interested in becoming part of the program please contact the Secretary
